中國近視患者多達6億 青少年近視率居世界第一

Many youngsters in China nowadays are increasinglyindulged in computer games and other electronicproducts, and are unable to extricate themselves.現如今,中國許多年輕人日漸沉迷于電腦游戲和其他電子產品而不能自拔。This is followed by a series of health problems, withthe most typical case being myopia, ornearsightedness.這導致了一系列的健康問題,其中最典型的就是近視。According to the latest research report released bythe World Health Organization (WHO), thenearsightedness rate among Chinese juveniles ranks first in the world - 70 percent of highschool and college students.據世衛(wèi)組織發(fā)布的最新報告顯示,中國青少年的近視率是全世界最高的--其中高中生和大學生群體的近視率達到了70%。The rate is nearly 40 percent in primary school students, while it is only 10 percent for theirpeers in the United States.小學生近視率也將近40%,而美國同齡人的近視率則只有10%。The WHO research report says that the number of nearsighted people in China has reached 600million, nearly approaching half of the country’s total population.世衛(wèi)組織的這一報告指出,中國近視人數已達到6億人,幾乎是全國人口的一半。Experts attribute the soaring nearsightedness rate in China to the unhealthy lifestyles andlearning styles which parents impose on their children.專家認為,中國近視率飆升和父母強加給孩子的不健康的生活和學習方式有關。On the one hand, to achieve high scores in exams, children spend too much time indoorsstudying and have not enough time outside in the sunlight.一方面,為求考試高分,孩子們花了太多時間在室內學習,在戶外陽光下的活動不足。On the other hand, a growing number of high-tech products, such as smart phones and tabletPCs, make children focus their eyes and attention on fluorescent screens for long periods oftime, resulting in excessive eye fatigue.另一方面,智能手機和平板電腦等越來越多的高科技產品,使得孩子們的眼睛和注意力長時間集中在熒光屏上,導致眼睛過度疲勞。Experts suggest that youngsters maintain a proper balance between study and rest so as toprotect their eyesight, and parents should play a correspondingly active role in the process.專家建議青少年應該在學習和休息之間保持適度平衡,從而保護他們的視力,而孩子的父母也應在這個過程中發(fā)揮相應的積極作用。
