permeate的基本意思是“彌漫”“充滿”“滲透”,指任何種類(lèi)的液體或氣體“滲入”“透過(guò)”某種物質(zhì)或?qū)嶓w的所有細(xì)孔、空隙,也可引申指某種意識(shí)、現(xiàn)象等“充滿”“遍布”一個(gè)區(qū)域。
permeate可用作及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作不及物動(dòng)詞。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),接名詞或代詞作賓語(yǔ),用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),常與介詞among〔through,with〕連用。
